I was happy to find a Mongolia hot pot restaurant after visiting the first time in Montreal. But before I went, I had stumbled across an article on the Citizen about restaurants that had “critical deficiencies”. which cause me some concern. The article was about a series of restaurants in Ottawa that was lacking in standards with the provincial safety rules. Mongolia hot pot was one of the restaurants inspected but was approved with some minor concerns. The place was simple, spacious, and friendly. One thing that really impressed me was their huge quantity of sea food, its availabity and the freshness. My son, who eats like a bird actually like the place and eat a fair bit. The soup base was excellent and their exhaust system worked very well. Overall, it was one of the better places I been to where the customer cook their own food. I finally got around checking the new K S out. It was a bad start as we missed the entrance to the parking lot which was poorly located. The rest of the outing went very well. We ordered a medium pizza for my son and I, which we made it half meat lover and half plain. I read an earlier review that the food was really slow and I figure that it should take about 20 minutes. It came at 19 minutes which was fine by me. The food was a bit warm, so it must have sat somewhere for a while. The manager came by for some quality control which I feel is lacking in a lot of restaurant. She was very pleasant and explain to me the features of the new restaurant. Our server \\\"Chris\\\" was great and even offer my son a refill. Overall, the pizza was very tasty, great ingredients and lots of cheese. The place was nicely design, spacious and had a very friendly atmosphere. The sports bar on the second floor was well design with numerous projection screens and televisions showing different sports channels. I have visited this restaurant several times and its been worth every cent on each of our visits. I generally go there for family gatherings as it is always entertaining and the food is always well prepared. The cook was very professional and at the same time entertaining and funny. The only non positive comment came from my girlfriend was that the ventilation was not the best and we can smell the food we had on our clothes when we got home. I for one was not concern over that as everything else was excellent. I eat out 8 to 10 times a week and there are many other short fall that concerns me more.
