This was the first time we tried K S for breakfast and it was fairly good. The place was packed, but the service was quick and friendly, the portions were huge, so the value was there. The food itself was done the way I expected and it came fairly hot. The only complaint I have was the bacon was very well cooked and I returned it for another piece of sausage. I will be back. I thought I try another Local Heros to see if the food would be similar. It was the worst mistake ever. It was Saturday evening and the place was dead. That was the first sign of what my experiance was going to be. The beverage was ordered and arrived promply, but from there on, everything took a 90 degrees turn. The food took 25 minutes, and every dish we order was terrible. My Bonanza sandwich was dry, the roast beef had no flavor and the mid west special sauce did not exit. My son's Beef ribs were not edible as the meat on it was burnt and tough. My girlfriend's steak was cooked well done but it literally tasted like the meat expire a week ago. The manager had discover that the food came really late and stopped by to appologise, but she got the worst of it when I discribed everything to her. She was a really nice person and I really feft bad that she worked in such a dive. I hope someone reads this and maybe balance out this review as I can't believe such a place can exit. Click to enlarge This is a very authentic Iranian breakfast/lunch/brunch cafe. Amazing food quality, authentic atmosphere, reasonably priced, very healthy and very tasty! This is definitely the place to try some food that is not your run-off-the-mill American breakfast. There are some very strange sounding dishes on the menu, but from my experience, you won't be disappointed. Menu is only in French.. Some delicious menu items I tried: Boranis - yogurt with various vegetables/nuts (the spinach one is very good) koukou - omlette/quiche with vegetables (eggplant very good) any omlette meat/vegetable puree fresh pita and sweat bread served with all spreads/dips authentic tasting peppermint tea served in small glasses :) wonderful place, I highly recommend it. Click to enlarge Stopped into this place with my girlfriend for a fast bite and check out my favorite wing place. We order the calamari to compare with others we had recently. The waitress also highly recommended it and she was right 100 percent. It was properly dusted with a light thickness of flour and cooked just right to give that crispy texture. Unfortunately, the rest of the food was only acceptable. The wings were over cooked and the chicken nachos was lacking in amount of chicken pieces. The service was excellent and we were checked at least 6 times for food and beverage quality control. I'll be back, but next time I'll warn them about the wings being over cooked. I used to eat here every day when i was in highschool. Years later i told my husband that i wanted to go there to reminisce and so we did..and while eating there was a cockroach on the wall beside us. we discretely moved to the table beside us to get away from this bug and i stopped eating my food. Then Gordy came over and asked why we changed tables. we told him quietly as there were other people dining as well. he came out with a huge can of raid and started spraying the area. Click to enlarge I decided to order in as the weather was really bad to go out and eat. This site had really good reviews on this restaurant and so I decided to give it a try. The food came late as the person on the phone had already warn me that they were really busy. Well, my first sip of the hot and sour soup was delicious and my bite of the beef with the flat doodle was exceptional. So, I put the food back in the container so I can get a good picture. Well, we continue our dinner and I have to say that it was the best takeout ever. The shrimp roll was crispy and contain just the right amount of shrimps and the Cantonese chow mein and the noodles in it was soft but not soggy. The calamari came with this old style thick batter and contains so much oil that it seeped into the plate. We peel the batter off and fortunately, the calamari inside still tasted OK. Burrito Boyz has the best burritos I have ever tasted. I haven't been to the one on Peter Street, only the one on Adelaide, but I assume they do it the same. Food quality is excellent, they have a variety of burritos from steak to halibut. Their quesadillas are great, but their burritos are the star. Whenever I go there, which is probably once every two months, I am always amazed by the service and cleanliness. They are extremely organized and came up with a very efficient system to serve a lot of customers without a long wait. Located in Baldwin Village in Toronto, John's Italian Caffe is OK. So many people love this place and I'm really not sure why they think it's so great. It's probably because it's in Baldwin Village and people feel like they're getting an authentic Italian experience... Their pizza is quite nice, they have a lot of healthy selections and they are thin crust. I like their smoked salmon sandwich that come with salad ($9) because it is really big! But one thing that I really dislike about this place is that they serve their water in plastic cups and not glass cups. They're the type of plastic cups that have a permanent opaqueness to it from being used and washed a lot over time. I got strep throat from eating here, I'm pretty sure it was from the water because soon after my throat felt really irritated. The food is pretty decent, but i suggest they up their cleanliness. Big Slice is awesome for students! Located on yonge street near Ryerson University, Big Slice is pretty cheap for the pizza slice they give you which is huge! They provide condiments to add to your pizza, a favourite choice is hot sauce among the many students that go (not for me though). However, the place is a little dingy, people coming in and out to use their bathroom (i have been warned never ever to go inside their bathroom, so i have not and don\'t plan on doing so). But the overall atmosphere is great! It\'s pretty alive, since it has a great location on yonge, They offer delivery of different sized pizzas. I got it once and the pizza could barely fit in their largest box it was so big. If you\'re in the area looking for a quick and cheap bite, i recommend this place.
